Not fully abstract, yet not completely representational, Terry Bartle's work immerses the viewer in to a world which goes far beyond a mere reflection of reality, but endeavors to create external environments somewhere in the balance.
His use of deep and fiery colours, densely layered paint and expressive painterly mark, saturates the canvas in colour and form, inventing spaces rich in atmosphere and intensity. This use of autonomous form and colour, creates powerful abstracted landscapes and non representational worlds which seem to function on an imposing scale.
Deriving his inspiration from a variety of cultural sources, Terry Bartle combines his own sense of impression, perception and imagination to invent unique worlds of land, sea and sky.
Predominantly using acrylic on canvas Bartle also uses a variety of mediums, including digital imagery. His work has been exhibited across the UK and Europe, where he has works in private collections.
