The work I produce is on subject of urban living architecture and community. The people and places painted in my work reflect how the world around us is simultaneously part of us and us part of our environment. When walking through any city I am constantly aware of the people buildings and how they move within each other. The paintings I produce create a sense of moving reportage they capture the ever moving landscape of the urban environment and the different people that move within it. I never try to make the images I paint anyone view of a place but paste in many different perspectives and views of the places I paint. This in turn creates a sense of knowing in the viewer while avoiding the traditional landscape views but referencing to them through the use of traditional media. I am constantly aware of the interaction between people and the places they inhabit to this end, I have been involved in community projects involving the community in their environment. The projects have formed part of the research on the urban architectural and social history of Britain which I find so interesting and have in turn fed into and informed my professional practise. Working in conjunction with other artists and collaborating on projects is at the core of how I produce my work, and it is the collaborative aspects of community arts which drives and inspires me in the production of high quality outcomes, which is the core strength I bring to any project. Recently I have just undertacken a months recidency at T.R.O Arts factory gallery Berlin were I have been creating new works on the industrial skyline of this imposing city, I have an upcoming exhibition at T.R.O arts in September which will further raise my profile internationally. I have been invited back by T.R.O arts next year to continue my practise in Berlin.
