MARY LOUISE COULOURIS R E
Mary Louise Coulouris is a Slade Graduate, Senior Fellow of the Royal Society of Printmakers, and specialist in public art with six recent commissions to her credit. An interest in people and diverse cultures informs her work and a new interest in landscape painting and ecology has been made possible by her stays in Greece and Spain on various scholarships and Artists Residencies.
In 2004 she was commissioned to do a series of watercolours by the curator of the Palace of Westminster, for the House of Lords.
She usually spends most of the year on the Greek island of Hydra, where she had two very successful one-person show –‘Silouetes’ in 2005,and ‘Kefi kai Louloudia’ in 2009.
In November 2005 she took part in a show called ‘Artists and Radio 4’ at the Bankside Gallery, London.
In 2008 she was commissioned to produce 7 watercolours inspired by British poets of her choice for the Royal Free Hospital London.
In November 2009 she will take part in an exhibition on the theme of Optimism at the Artzone 42 Gallery, Athens
She is experienced across a broad spectrum of media and her teaching experience includes eight years in various London art schools, with the Open College of the Arts, and masterclasses, more recently on themes such as creativity and art and climate change .
She has exhibited widely and her work is in public and private collections in Britain, France, Italy, Greece, South Africa, Australia and the United States.
