About the Artist

The work of Emma Strangwayes-Booth depicts figures or seemingly mundane objects behind which lurk a darker biographical narrative, often charting physical and mental change.
Inspired by the natural world, ancient myths and dream psychology, she seeks to treat her work as a means to explore imagination and the subconscious mind.

Emma Strangwayes-Booth was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1975. Educated in the United Kingdom she now lives and works in Paris, France.
