Neil is a master sculptor in a career spanning more than 30 years. He spent seven years as a figurative "in house" sculptor for pottery giant Wedgwood. Neil considers himself self taught and his considerable talent has led to a range of high profile commissions, including the famous Royal Doulton, Wedgwood Prestige basalt Jasper collections, Royal Worcester and Disney and even the cast of Downton abbey in full costume for Itv.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Neil at work in his studio in Staffordshire, Neil's sculptures truly captivate and inspire, his work is extraordinarily beautiful and evocative which is why Neil is celebrated as one of the most talented artists living and working in the Britain today.
Each artwork is a labour of love and Neil personally overseas every unique patination working closely with his British foundries to produce the best possible finishes. His bronze editions sell out quickly and his work has become very sought after in recent years".
The curves of the human form are overwhelmingly complex and Neil’s extraordinary talent for capturing the fleeting gestures and mood in his sculptures coupled with an acute understanding of anatomy are what make his work come alive and his angelic faces make his work unique.A very talent rare indeed.
Neil says (quote) “ I strive to capture the beauty of body and soul in all it’s subtlety and to produce work that represents my best endeaver ”. “Being an artist is a journey, I never stop learning and my work and influences are always in a state of flux. I never know where they will take me next”
