Victor Sam [Abeiku] has been painting since the age of 7, and is a highly creative artist with a penchant for vivid colour. This creative ability made him winner of the All Africa Painting contest in 1988.
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland (UK) in 1968, but raised in Ghana,(West Africa), his varied background has influenced his style. The themes of his work reflect a strong use of colour, light and texture. He is currently in the process of creating a new series of contemporary, abstract works with compositions on varied topics.
He says":"Art is the total expression of inner joy, melancholy or even madness. What makes great art is how much truth and emotional content is poured into a work by the artist. Art is the unpeeling of different parts of myself for all to see."
