Eiichi Fukuda

INTRODUCTION

Eiichi Fukuda completed four years of formal art training in his hometown of Hakodate, northern Japan. Having worked as a teacher for 29 years he retired early in order to focus on his own work and exhibition submissions.
His current medium is Japanese sumi ink / washi paper which he combines with western materials to create an abstract and figurative east-west fusion. The unexpected reaction caused by the mix of materials is often the inspiration for the finished work.
He divides his time between Japan and the UK.
