Jacqueline is a surface pattern designer and textile artist specialising in the home interiors market. She started out as a designer for Axminster Carpets Ltd in the ‘80s and has been involved in design ever since.
On display are mounted textiles, which are sometimes embellished with stitching and beads. Each piece is unique and special. “I believe my wall art is visually energising and works equally well in a contemporary or traditional setting."
The wall panels are created using merino fleece and silks which are wet felted by hand. Abstract interpretations of natural surroundings are formed using colour and texture.
The hand crafted images make a bold statement in the home and add energy to the commercial environment. The purity and depth of colour add another element of texture to the room.
The finished pieces are mounted onto board ready for framing.
“I think it is the texture that I find so exciting and I love the freedom felting gives me. This natural medium has inspired me to explore new ways of expressing my art. Inspiration comes from everything around me, particularly changes in our environment caused by weather, erosion and the seasons.”
