| The work of Marcia Mar is vibrant and full of life, made up of dancing atoms and pulsating brushstrokes. She uses a variety of mixed media applied with a scumbling, dry paint method to form the image. Sometimes the paint is applied in what is almost a pointillist or aboriginal dotting approach. The work has a tribal feel to it and is a mixture of both the figurative and the abstract. The restricted colour palette, creates emphasis on the pattern and magical trance-like content of the images. |
