Using black Pen and ink, Nicholas then superimposes, using the geometric forms of the street architecture as his guide, a free hand lattice of thin delicate line, extending across the canvas in all directions. This creates not only a sense of perspective but also has a dramatic effect on our impression of the scale within each work. |
