The colour scheme is perhaps the main carrier of the unusual painting sensibilities of Adriana Eyzaguirre. Minty aqua greens, coupled with turquoise, mauve and sand make for a sensitive, almost feminine domestic world. Her use of birds such as bullfinches and blue tits as subject matter along with vegetables in still lives, all serve to combine to evoke a shimmering heat haze of a sun-filled kitchen, where birds might fly in and out. Metaphors of domesticity and freedom abound in these delightful sensitive renderings of well-known objects, whose juxtaposition creates a unique twist. |
