Matt Faulkner

Matt Faulkner was born in London in 1977 and after school qualified as a Financial Adviser. After a number of very successful years working in the city Faulkner decided to follow his dream, and open a recording studio in London's famous 'TinPan Alley'. Over the years the studio hosted a wealth of artists including, Adam Ant and rock band Million Dead. In 2002, Matt relocated from London to South Wales. The power of the surrounding countryside inspired Matt to pick up the brush for the first time in 10 years and he began to paint a series of works inspired by the horizon. Art and music have always played a huge part in Matt's life, "I find that the two creative outlets compliment each other as a cathartic release and as a lifestyle away from the rat-race." he says, adding when, "I aren't making a mess with paints, I am usually making a noise in the studio."

Lisa Ferguson

Lisa Ferguson lives in New York, was born in New Zealand, and has sold her work across the world. A truly international artist she has been featured in numerous publications and has been filmed for several current affairs shows. Lisa's large scale paintings, often measuring over a meter high, create vivacious landscapes of poured, scraped and brushed sinuous line and form. Her frantic uses of richly layered colour, defined by veins of curvaceous line, create some deeply arresting and absorbing paintings.

Ren  Ferri

Ferri’s vibrant use of colour and fluidity of form give her paintings a marine like quality, although her cleanliness of mark implies a man made environment similar to beautifully lit aquarium where life is quietly evolving.

Jeff Ferst

My abstract paintings have been termed “flamboyant” by the Preston Catalogue, “life-affirming” by sculptor Bruce Flowers and “juicy” by Cambridge Library & Gallery Director Mary Misner.

I paint fluid, tactile and emotional works. Drawing upon the pastoral, architectural and sensory experiences I interact with daily, I have broken down traditional landscape objects and my emotional reaction to them into geometric shapes constructed of color and texture. They are captured on canvas in a play of shapes and color. These collage elements of the mind encompass reality and emotions intertwined.

Lesley Finney

Lesley Finney's artwork is not only decorative, with an all-over patterned intensity and is full of surprises."Arctic (aquamarine)" provides a landscape with a very distinctive colour scheme which is highly unusual but feasible. Contrast this with "Priceless" which uses gold leaf and has a relief-like quality but which seems to herald the importance of having a heart. Finally "The Edge of Reason" is an imaginative landscape which at first glance looks like waves, perhaps parting like those of the Red Sea in the biblical story. But it could similarly be cliffs: either way, the viewer is brought up short against a vertical face, the testing of one's limits. This is certainly art that communicates well.

Andrew  Fitchett

Working with oils as a foundation, Andrew brings a sense of abstraction to his work through playing with scale and applying rich textures and surfaces achieved by adding gesso, chalk, ash, charcoal and other materials from the environment he seeks to represent. Contained within powerful compositions that echo his Graphic Design experience in the music industry and finished with an attention to detail reminiscent of Victorian natural history illustration, the paintings become icons and symbols that sum up the character of the Sussex landscape.

Flow Fitzgerald

Predominantly influenced by classical art, both of the Greek and renaissance period, Florence Fitzgerald is a sculptor who is very much inspired by the human form. “I love to work with the life model because there is a special creative energy there. I try to capture a little bit of the spirit and the soul of the person I’m working with. I find the process a very powerful experience. For me the relationship with the model is an integral part of my creative process.” She says. A self taught artist, Fitzgerald was born in France and currently lives in London.

Val Flack

A riot of colours clash and collide, creating a soulful impression on the viewer. Val Flack makes work that breathes with life and dances with a bright rhythm across the canvass. In some paintings she uses pale blues and pinks to make her work is soothing and calming, whereas in other works deep reds punctuate the colour scheme, giving heat and verve. A vivid sense of composition means that Flack is able to create paintings that come alive and are full of interesting details. Black or blue geometric shapes sit on top of flowing abstract backgrounds, providing a depth to this art that is hard to ignore. An appreciation of music provides wonderful inspiration as Val Flack endeavours to give her images a sense of cadence. Having exhibited widely across Europe and in the United States over the last twenty years, Flack is now a member of the LondonArt community.
