Horacio Cardozo

Horacio Cardozo's desire to understand the inherent relationship between human nature, the universal order, and the underlying reality, leads him to create images that attempt to explain that which defies reason. Cardozo was born in Argentina, where he studied Architecture and Design at Buenos Aires University and Philosophy at Del Salvador University. In 1987 his drawing skills and admiration for fine arts, especially those of the Renaissance period, led him to explore a career in painting. Horacio is currently living in Auckland, New Zealand where he works as a Graphic Artist and continues to develop his artistic career.

Lynne Cartlidge

The still lives of Lynne Cartlidge are some of the most subtle you will ever see, undoubtedly. Suffused with light and barely there, her compositions are understated but incredibly engaging. It is fitting that one of her compositions is entitled "Tulips with gauze curtains" for in fact, her domestic tableaux seem to be somehow veiled by light itself, making the subjects more distant and piquant. Embracing a largely cool palette, even the hot, bright accents she uses at times are presented in saturated colours, including red poppies, which is no mean feat! Her palette is unusual and perhaps influenced by the Cornish painters, whose work reflected the bright light of the region.

Kenneth Clarke

A former Mr Universe, Kenneth has since turned from body sculpture to art and in so doing has evinced a fine appreciation for the female form. Elsewhere, a love of music is revealed both in the use of music notation and pulsing forms, with twisting shell-shapes alluding to the fractal imagery of chaos theory.

Patricia Clements SWA

Patrica clements’ work is undoubtedly influenced by the French Impressionist movement of the 1900’s, and takes influence from some of the great artists such as Degas, Monet, Manet and Renoir. Patricia is heavily influenced by colour and her work tends to use only the pure colours of the spectrum, in addition to white. The placing side-by-side of fragments of these pure colours has become central to her ideas, along with the simplification of light and shade in the presentation of mass rather than outline. Although we don't immediately see every detail of every petal, or buildings, her work forms a strong impression of the flowers, the light hitting the water, the shade of the nearby building. Working in oils and pastels, producing still lifes, landscapes and nudes of scenes that range from Twickenham to St.Tropez, Patricia's resulting work reflects the vibrant colours and brilliant light of the South of France.

Andy Cook

Cook’s paintings emerge on the canvas in an emotional outpouring. Starting with a vague sketch made from memory Smith allows the painting to evolve. There is a certain amount of automatic painting which can produce work of spontaneity and freedom, but also risks losing the painting altogether.
