Rachel  Parker

Mixtures of colours blend and compliment each other in these skilfully rendered oil paintings. Typical and unusual settings are treated with respect and painted in an enjoyable and lively manner. Whether it is the cracked eggs and toast of a Sunday morning or the cultured leisure of a long, indulgent afternoon tea, meal times are captured beautifully in works perfect for any kitchen. When the artist turns her hand to the world outside she paints the bustle of a rush hour commute or the deep serenity of the Chilean landscape with equal passion. Deer faces poke out of the canvass and look make inquisitive eye contact with the viewer. These quirky and enjoyable paintings dance with life and vitality and would be perfect in any home or work space.

Charlie Parker

Although Charlie had recognized his drive towards painting in his early teenage years, he decided not to take formal training in the arts. He finds pleasure in painting landscapes, seascapes and people. His landscapes often include an element of surreal in them but his portraits always try best to mirror the physical features of the sitter as well as to capture the essence or character of the subject. He mostly like working on commissions which challenge the painter to explore the character of the model.

Stanley Peach

As a photographer and as a painter, Peach combines interesting subject matter with an artist’s eye for the keen detail. His photographic work speaks of modern social issues as he creates powerful images of punks and pink clad Russian women. His stunning portrait of Jasmine shows her true beauty as clear brown eyes shine from beneath her veil, whereas the image titled ‘contemplation’ shows the strain of living in the modern world. In other works he uses cryptic symbolism as he photographs a neatly stitched up pear. As a painter he focuses on the same issues, taking complex and interesting subjects and skilfully painting them in unusual situations. Passionate, humane and deeply skilful, this is a multi-talented artist who has a very bright future. We are absolutely delighted to exhibit his work here at LondonArt.

Zachary Peirce

Londoner Zachary Peirce is a confident oil painter who applies the paint with thick, impasto daubs often fretting the surface to create added tension. He has recently completed a series of 30 paintings relating to the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster and its ongoing aftermath. Images 1-7, displayed here, represent different stages of this exploration "and attempt to convey something of the atmosphere of decay, abnormality and threat that exists in the 30 kilometre exclusion zone that was created around the destroyed reactor". The Financial Times described them as having "an architectonic splendour crossed with a mood of decay and threat." Peirce's figurative work shares the same brooding atmosphere as his architectural pieces. Peirce was born into an artistic family (his grandfather is the famous American painter Waldo Peirce) and studied Fine Art at Middlesex University. He was recently shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Neena Percy

In her paintings Neena merges the real and the imaginary, the abstract and the representational. In this way, the paintings open up a mysterious world which can be entered and completed by the viewers’ own interpretation and imagination.

A series of paintings depict flooded landscapes stemming from a combination of photos taken by the artist and images found online or in magazines. Something as arbitrary as roofs become surreal-looking as she uses these images to construct a new place within which fictional characters perform a role. At first seductive and playful, with a bold use of colour, the images draw the viewer into an alternative, perhaps dystopian, world.

Jan Phethean

Jan Phethean spent her childhood travelling across China ,Africa and the Mediterranean.
