Katherine Jenkins

For many artists the study of light and the attempt to capture it on a flat surface, like canvas has been a life time preoccupation. Katherine, an emerging artist, has also started her journey towards discovering light and its impact on the final result of a painting. She enjoys exploring it while painting still-lives and interiors, which are good models for her case study.

Eric  Jobbins

Eric has been trained as a teacher with his main subject being art. His inspirations came from the works of the Pre-Raphaelites and Salvador Dali's surrealism, but he created the most powerful opinions about art when he saw a Spanish Super - Realist exhibition about 30 years ago. Since then he has been driven by an urge to capture detail in painting and aimed to achieve three-dimensional imagery, with a hint of impressionism.

Hans Johansson

One brief glance at the CV of Hans Johansson confirms that this is a very experienced, established artist. Having trained at the Royal College of Art in Stockholm, he has exhibited work in many different countries such as Sweden, America, Spain, China and Britain. He has shown at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery, on Tube posters in London and in Times Square, New York, to name but a few impressive sites. The work he shows here at Londonart is comprised of sensitive pencil drawings and a recent oil painting. The works in pencil are renderings of mysterious, mythological muses, which only partly cohere, thus adding to their hypnotic allure. Both the drawings and the painting have a strong sense of movement in their line and brushwork.

Yvonne Johnson

Specialising in Charcoal on paper, Yvonne Johnson spends a great deal of time in the life room. This form of dedicated study encourages and strengthens her ability to look, in this case at the human form, and to reflect what she is able to see and experience in front of her. It also reinforces her ability to visually create 'life like' representations by relying on her imagination and memory. Trained at Leeds Art College, a finalist of a National Art Prize, Yvonne Johnson now exhibits in London.

Susannah Keay

Having exhibited widely across London and mainland Europe, Susannah Keay has now found at home at LondonArt. She is a multi-faceted artist who likes to switch between mediums, but mostly works in pencil, photography and collage. The work she displays here shows her mastery of the pencil drawing and her creative inventiveness as she builds photography collages. By juxtaposing ideas of place and beauty with concepts of indoors and outdoors, she creates art that is interesting and beautiful. We are very pleased to welcome her and feel certain that the customers of LondonArt will enjoy her work as much as we do.

Carole A. Keegan

Carole A. Keegan's figurative work takes it's inspiration from the world around her. "My line drawings, oil and digital paintings take their inspiration from the recesses and corners, the winds and turns of the imagination, from the fantastical with roots in mythology and legend, but also curious modern situations and stances often involving semi-cartoon images of people I meet." Her idiosyncratic reflections on life are perfectly reflected by her black on white pen and ink drawings. Carole A. Keegan's simple and unhesitant line drawings, mythological paintings and abstract digital works, create ornamental versions of people in conversation.

Saba  Khan

Recently making a splash in Modern Painters and Aesthetica magazines, Saba Khan's contemporary oil and mixed-media paintings and drawings explore moments in what she describes as "our random, surreal emotional, spiritual, sensual and geopolitical lives". For her, making art is about simultaneously engaging in mind, body, spirit and physical spaces where seen and unseen worlds intermingle and fluctuate. "Concerned about a shiny, artificial, branded geopolitical world where the majority do not benefit, I eventually face an image that is both fragmenting and optimistic, like the beginning of something new yet familiar that had always existed, but was not previously noticed. I work on the principle of the ‘death of the author’, once a work is made, what I have experienced and expressed is dead and the onlooker interacts with a blank canvas where a new world ebbs and flows’.
