Nathan Bean

Nathan Bean hopes to express a range of complex human emotions which are typically associated with bereavement or a deep felt loss. "Sadness, regret, change and solitude; a glancing silent thought from within oneself not to be broadcast to anyone else, a feeling or emotion that stays inside…The silent roar that rushes in your ears and pounds at your heart." Nathan creates beautiful images which counterbalance and reflect the powerful subject matter and content.

Guillaume Bourieau

After studying life drawing in France over seventeen years ago, Guillaume Bourieau recently returned to his figurative roots, when in 2005 he began a life painting course in London. Since then he has continued to produce paintings of a figurative nature, and has more recently begun to explore the landscape in oils. Finding inspiration from artists such as Rembrandt, Vermeer, David Park, and Richard Diebenkorn, she intends to continue her Fine Art study in late 2006.

Robert Brook

We like art that applies a romantic sheen to everyday life. But then we also like art that shows the world as it is, without any attempt to glamourise the cities and people that surround us. The photography of Robert Brook teeters between art and photojournalism, living in a wonderful place between accurate representation and artistic selectivity. His portfolio contains images of bus stations, lamp posts, canals, power stations and intriguingly placed missing flippers. When we at LondonArt first viewed this work we were struck by its honestly and its familiarity. These images capture something of the daily reality of life in modern Britian, while simultaneously providing beautiful images that that are stylistically striking. Lovers of chic images, look away now. Robert Brook is showing us the world that we so often ignore.

Brian Brooks

Brian Brooks has been exhibiting internationally since the 1970's with work held in private and public collections throughout Europe, the USA and Latin America. Brian has a natural talent for translating the visual world onto a two-dimensional picture plane. Utilising digital technology and computer software, his paintings use photography as a point of reference rather than a tool for direct imitation. His integral understanding of colour and perspective equals his command for pattern and repetition with an elegant and refined painting technique.

Patricia Clements SWA

Patrica clements’ work is undoubtedly influenced by the French Impressionist movement of the 1900’s, and takes influence from some of the great artists such as Degas, Monet, Manet and Renoir. Patricia is heavily influenced by colour and her work tends to use only the pure colours of the spectrum, in addition to white. The placing side-by-side of fragments of these pure colours has become central to her ideas, along with the simplification of light and shade in the presentation of mass rather than outline. Although we don't immediately see every detail of every petal, or buildings, her work forms a strong impression of the flowers, the light hitting the water, the shade of the nearby building. Working in oils and pastels, producing still lifes, landscapes and nudes of scenes that range from Twickenham to St.Tropez, Patricia's resulting work reflects the vibrant colours and brilliant light of the South of France.

Paul Cooklin

Much of Paul's inspiration is drawn from his travels and surroundings. From the gentle landscapes of his current home in Suffolk to the striking juxtaposition of technology and nature that is particularly prevalent in Asia, where he lived for 8 years. It is these experiences that give rise to the fascinating coexistence of colour and shape in his work.
