Catherine Heard

While Catherine's condiment works look like random collections of kitchen basics, they are in fact psychological profiles of their owners - portraits that can tell us more about their subjects than more traditional head-and-shoulders daubs. She also captures the recognisable brands with loving attention to detail.

Sergej Hahonin

SERGEJ HAHONIN Russian born Sergej Hahonin studied painting in Omsk then at Krasnojarsk Academy of Art in Siberia where he specialized in ceramics and pottery. Edwina  Hannam

Edwina Hannam completed an MA in Illustartion from Central St Martins in 2005. Working in parallel on both her illustration and painting she has found that both disciplines feed the other. “Being trained in Illustration has taught me to observe detail, to recognise the aesthetics of space and how this translates to the paper or canvas.” she says. “I paint in a very detailed, realistic style but always try to add a talking point, an element of disquiet.” Edwina Hannam has recently exhibited her work in the Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition which was held at the Mall Galleries, London.

Merlin Harish

At first sight, the strong colours and geometric shapes of these digital images appear to be modern - day yantras, which exert a powerful retinal pull. Combining western sci-fi influences both in form and their ironic, labyrinthine titles, they are redolent of the mysterious narratives of Borges. Operating on so many formal and imaginative levels, their use of repetition, diffraction and endless movement create eruptions of intense colour, which are nevertheless both wistful and somehow haunting. These works leave an after effect both in the eye and the mind.

Sancho Harker

Sancho's work is largely exceuted via pencil and paper thus carrying the associations of hard labour, time spent covering the page with a sharp point. His story is an unusual one and these works could be viewed as the result or expression of great pain. Certainly, there are signs of weaponry and sharp edges cutting through the images and the variations in the chequerboard background create the effect of disorientation. Inspired by Surrealism, he makes use of silhouetted female forms to provide soft curvaceous relief.

Greta Harutyunyan

There is an incredibly mournful quality to Great Harutyunyan's artwork. A pale blue dress hanging up in a window at night time suggests that hopes for an evening's revelry have been dashed. A strong naked woman sits unmoved, arms crossed, as two suitors throw themselves on her in a beseeching embrace. These are direct, potent narratives painted with succinct means.
