Sancho Harker

Sancho's work is largely exceuted via pencil and paper thus carrying the associations of hard labour, time spent covering the page with a sharp point. His story is an unusual one and these works could be viewed as the result or expression of great pain. Certainly, there are signs of weaponry and sharp edges cutting through the images and the variations in the chequerboard background create the effect of disorientation. Inspired by Surrealism, he makes use of silhouetted female forms to provide soft curvaceous relief.

Greta Harutyunyan

There is an incredibly mournful quality to Great Harutyunyan's artwork. A pale blue dress hanging up in a window at night time suggests that hopes for an evening's revelry have been dashed. A strong naked woman sits unmoved, arms crossed, as two suitors throw themselves on her in a beseeching embrace. These are direct, potent narratives painted with succinct means.

Georg Heider

George Heider is a self-taught artist who finds inspiration in the work of great artists such as Hundertwasser, Chagall, O Keeffe, Hockney, Gauguin, Matisse, van Gogh. His works have an immense freedom about them, created as reverse paintings on glass. Heider sees the material of the universe as joy, which gives us strength and energy. This medium has long since been associated with religious and popular art, but Heider wishes to endow it with a more modern feel, often painting surreal, imagined subjects with a double meaning. He also seeks to convey movement and bright colors; filling the image with dreams, longings and subjects that create happiness.

Cecelia Heyne

CECELIA HEYNE Cecelia is a Zimbabwean artist who has been producing paintings for exhibitions and private commission for the last fourteen years. She works with acrylics and oils, in two very different styles. The Southern African theme of totemic culture influences the one body of work. A collage of images sourced from memory, books and photographs are exaggerated and manipulated onto the canvas. The resultant shapes are then blocked in with strong colour, resulting in bold, bright, design-oriented canvases. Surrealist mindscapes explore three-dimensional representation in her other range of paintings. Emphasis in composition is on creating depth, distance and fullness which together with the use of rich, dissonant colour, result in works which have an uncomfortable brooding, edginess to them.

 Hkosmoh

The work of Hkosmoh is a journey into the imagination: satisfying and surprising jaunts into realms of colour and pattern leap out at the eye. Working in acrylic on canvas, there is a mosaic-like quality to her designs which conjure up Italian frescoes, especially in the case of the iconic "Maria". There is also perhaps a reference to Italian Futurism in the definite repetition of motifs as in "Bank-ing Messenger"s and" Hoto". In fact, the allusions also take one into the realms of ancient Egyptian, as one can find disitnct kohl-rimmed eyes and goddesses, but also others from a variety of mythologies. Decorative gold outlined forms in the vein of Hundertwasser take their place in the array of embellishments so beloved by this unique artist.
