Michael Tarr was born in 1946 in Bridgwater, Somerset. 1962-65 Studied at Somerset College of Art, Taunton. 1965-77 he worked in an architectural practice in Taunton. 1977-2000 Michael Tarr is working as a freelance artist, combining illustration, graphic design and painting. These paintings are, in the most part, exploring the relationship of light, both natural and artificial, on natural objects, still lives, landscapes etc. They also convey the artists Italian influences and preoccupation with strong geometric shapes, leading eventually towards simplification and abstraction.
