I was first inspired by the classical Renaissance art which had drawing at its foundation. I felt this was where I had to begin, studying anatomy and portraiture.
My style evolved through time along with the expansion of my influences which added the surrealist Dali and cubist Picasso.
This culminated in the fusion of ink compositions that comprised my first serious study: 'Origins of Variation' of which the Blue Eryngium series stems. Although this was originally created for a private collection, elements, along with portraiture and anatomical studies, were added as part of a solo exhibition at 'Centre Arts' gallery, Cheltenham, November 2011.
Following successful application to art competitions in New York I have been unable to commit to further exhibitions until now.
